Another honor for Shahid Beheshti's big family - the Faculty Member of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in MENA-IEI Immunodeficiency Patient Registration Association
According to the official letter sent by Dr. Waleed Al-Harez, the chief director of the MENA Immunodeficiency Association and Dr. Raif S. Geha from Boston University and the director of the guideline writing committee, Dr. Zahra Chavoshzadeh, a Faculty Member of Mofid Children's Hospital - Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, has received the title for one of the active and effective members of the immunodeficiency patient registry in collaboration with Dr. Nima Rezaei by registering more than 5,373 patients from Iran, which has led to the title of the second database of immunodeficiency patients in this association. Inherent immunodeficiency (IEI) is a heterogeneous group of immune genetic defects that cause a high rate of morbidity and mortality among children due to infectious and non-infectious complications. Due to the prevalence of certain types of IEI in the MENA region, mainly due to the high rate of familial marriage and most of the patients with IEI in these areas cannot be identified (molecular diagnosis). Therefore, the Middle East and North Africa Registry on Inborn Errors of Immunity (MENA-IEI) is trying to identify and treat these patients with the aim of collecting and recording data.
